Hi, I’m James Bird, Co-Director at Best Nest Building Company
I was born on the Northshore of Auckland City, spending most of my younger years in Wellsford on my grandparents’ farm.
When I was 19, I joined the army where I completed 2 years in the 7 Hawks Bay Battalion, then pursued my other passion of motorsport where I competitively raced motorbikes for many years.
I have a passion for golf, fishing and of course, motorsport with an annual trip to Australia to attend the Bathurst 1000.
When I am not running the sites at Best Nest Building Company, you will find me working on my beach house in Tokarau Bay in the far north. This is a place my partner Debbie and I love to get away to and spend time at as much as possible.
My partner Debbie and I have been living in Greenhithe Auckland for the past 10 years. I have 2 great stepchildren one of which lives in Australia, and the other living in Auckland and just completing his university degree.
One of my fondest memories was having a 2-week family holiday in Thailand creating great memories and playing a heap of golf and a lot of night market shopping and experiencing the Thai culture.
I have such a great passion for building coming from a long line of builders on both sides of my family and myself with over 30 years’ experience in the building and construction sector, I love knowing that I am creating people’s dream houses for them to live in and enjoy for many years to come. I love bringing the visions to reality for them.
